CHC Final Project
September 2017 - May 2018
In the final year of my tertiary education, I did another Final Year Project, which is much more troubled than the previous one.
The reason? I had to change the topic many times. Below is the development of my whole project:

2nd Idea: E-book on Online Rumours about Hong Kong society
After having the first idea been deemed to be not feasible, I came up with another idea from some books that I read before.
I discovered that there are some rumours that are widely spread online about the stereotypes of certain Hong Kong districts. So I decided to discuss such tales with some teenagers residing in the relevant districts, with some of them being popular by creating contents related to the districts' situation. It is to explain and bust the rumours, as well as deliver the message that we should be vigilant to such stories.
Six districts would be included in this e-book, and in each part, there would be the following sections:

Introduction to Rumours
In the first two pages, there would be an introduction to the District and the related rumours, accompanied by some images of the usual livings.

Street Interviews
I would conduct interviews on some urban areas to gather the views of teenagers regarding the above-mentioned rumour, as well as the impression towards the District discussed.
The interviews would be videotaped and edited to some 2-minute clips, and some soundbites would be listed in the e-book as texts.

Featured Interviews
As the main part of the sections, there would be a much more formal interview with a teenager living in the related District. The questions would be rather in-depth, which would make the statement more convincible with the words from people with first-hand experience.

Videos on Points of Interest
At the last page of each section, a video introducing different points of interest would be inserted.
The interviewee of the featured interview would serve as "host" of the mini programme, and the ways of presentation would differ from one video to another.
In addition to the contents, there would also be plenty of interactive elements in this e-book, such as panoramic images showing the whole District, a gallery acting like those in the web, etc.

3rd Idea: Documentary promoting persevering attitude
Encountering some problems when looking for interviewees, the supervisor introduced a basketball coach, who his story is a good example of perseverance.
Therefore, I decided to produce a video documentary about his experience, in order to deliver the message that people should never give up their dreams.
Even the production is rather rushed comparing with the above two, I still managed to include the following parts in the documentary:

A Personal Account from a Former Reporter
I had an interview with Chi-ho Cheung, a former basketball player and TV reporter on sports news, about the past of the basketball coach, such as the entry to the basketball industry and the process of becoming a coach.

The Training of a District Basketball Team
I went to a training session of a regional team, and recorded the his coaching methods.

A Match of a Corporation Team
I filmed a match which was not held publicly, with two corporation teams (one of them was coached by him) competed intensely.
This project is the best way to enhance my time management skills, since I had to keep various limitations on production in mind, such as the schedule of the interviewees, the complexity of the production and the fact that after the unusually scheduled classes and extraordinary long commuting time, I have left with a small portion of time to work on my assignments.
Even with such limitations in place, I still have to face the pressure from the supervisor who simply know little about my situation. Therefore, when I finally managed to finish the project on time, I am slightly proud of myself.
Although the quality of my work might be subject to rooms of improvement, it is still one of the unforgettable experience in my life.
